Welcome to Family Travel Gear Hub. By accessing or using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

About This Site

Family Travel Gear Hub publishes hands-on reviews, comparisons and how-to guides for the gear families actually use on the road: backseat organizers and trays, soft cooler bags for road-trip food, packing cubes for the whole family's clothes, stadium seats for football bleachers, and travel pillows for kids. Every piece is written from real trips, long drives to see family, weekend outings and fall game days, with the good and the annoying parts both included.

Family Travel Safety

Nothing on this site replaces your car seat manufacturer's instructions, your vehicle owner's manual, or the rules of your airline or venue. Kids should always ride in a properly installed, age-appropriate car seat or booster, and nothing should be placed between a child and the harness or seat belt. Travel pillows and other comfort items must never be used in a way that interferes with a car seat harness, and young children should be watched while they sleep.

Loose items in a moving car can become projectiles in a sudden stop or crash. Keep hard objects, tablets and drinks secured in pockets or closed bags, fold trays up when they are not in use, and never let a seat-back organizer block airbags, seat adjustments or a child's legroom. Pull over to hand things to the back seat rather than reaching while driving.

For food on the road, keep perishables cold with plenty of frozen packs, throw out anything that has warmed up, and check for allergies before sharing snacks with other families. On bleachers and in parking lots, watch footing on metal steps, keep kids close in crowds and traffic, plan for heat, cold and rain, and follow each venue's rules on what you can bring in. Never leave a child or anyone vulnerable alone in a parked car, even for a minute.
